ADHD & Marriage Weekly Tip - August 5, 2015
Quote of the Week
“…all at once it occurred to me that I’d left no room in my life for simple delight. I scheduled, penciled in, or planned everything…” - Sue Fliess
Simple Delight
One of the most common ‘mistakes’ that couples make when trying to turn around their relationship is focusing only on the negative – the things that need to be ‘fixed’ in order for them to feel better. Typically, this focus is expressed in terms of criticism and ‘can we talk?’ emotional conversations.
But to thrive, you need the positive, too – as much of it as you can get! Don’t just ‘leave time’ for simple delight – MAKE time for it. It’s critical that you can find ways to delight each other.
