I was hoping to get some feedback from others about possible behavioral changes with ADHD stimulants. Ever since my husband started taking Vyvanse, his behavior is odd. In the morning he's groggy and out of it (more than usual or what is to be expected), but after he takes the meds he is calm and extremely focused and energetic. In the evening, he starts acting agitated, moody, almost paranoid, and...just strange. Up late, writing long letters that don't make sense, pacing, talking to himself, acting secretive and hostile towards me. I think it's the meds that are doing this. I asked him to stop and he refused (upped his dose, even). I'm really worried. Does this sound familiar?
Scary!

I was tired all day long with Adderall and Vyvanse, but only after it took effect. Strattera made me paranoid, made my heart race (100 BPM; normally in the 60's), and I felt like it sucked the joy out of my life. If you read the inserts from the pharmacy, there can be some pretty bizarre side effects for stimulants. However, they tend to be on the rare side. For most of us, not eating or drinking enough water can be an issue, and losing weight. Those are the most common side effects. I would change meds if I were him. The talking to himself part is freaky. Really freaky. So is the crazy writing, secrecy and upping his dosage. I would call his doc.
Tell him to not take it

Vyvanse can help you or be your worst enemy. If it is the latter TELL UR HUSBAND TO STOP TAKING IT. While I was on Vyvanse I was a weirdo and it embarrassed me. The intrusive thoughts and compulsions on it were horrible. Sure I was educated but it creeps me out how weird my behavior was. Vyvanse was a horrible medication from me and I regret ever taking it because I could have been successful without it. People are gonna judge you wrongly because of it. Because I pushed away many people and be careful one day you will end up on mass media and so on. If you have OCD traits do what is best for you and please stop taking it...
