Hey! Just wanted to tell you that I was also freshly diagnosed myself. I'd say: been on Meds for it for about 6wks ago. I remember how it felt...At first. It was not too far from now. It's a lot of information and can seem overwhelming and sad at times but know that here at this site: There is much to learn here. Real people from all perspectives. But yes...it does help if you at least have 'some' base knowledge. Soo much wisdom and gives you the feeling of acceptance and understanding. Trust me. I'm still very new to the game. Feel free to hop in anytime..!! Quick question: how long ago where you diagnosed and are you on meds?
It's not me with adhd but my partner, I suspected for a while he has this but it was dx yesterday, he also has tourettes and OCD ....I'm in shock this morning don't know what to think .
i know how it feels to be overwhelmed with the events or circumstances ahead. im there right now. its a lot be some great advise can be found here! be open to the ideas and of course...'puke out' - someone once said ....all the negative crap and feelings that may arise. Better out than in! Seriously. Know you're not alone on what seems to be a neverending hell ride.. Today, I woke up and thought: it seemed lighter out today. better than yesterday. not much but something.
also, remember your feeling like this is a lot of information for you to process...i'm sure he shares the same !! if not more. it complicates his already complicated life. .. seriously!!!??? if all else fail: you guys at least have tis in commen: find out the dx. find support!! and educate.!! support is key!! even if its from strangers online. dont feel isolated because you don;t have to be.
good luck. one day at a time....hr at a time. remember the beauty in breathe before speaking (both of you!!)
