I need help trying to help my husband, newly diagnosed ADHD, get organized.

 

I'm finding a lot of good ideas here.  I'm going to try and get him here, too.

Hi. Welcome. 

The answer to your question depends on what you mean by "organized."  Do you literally mean household organization with ADHD in mind or do you mean first steps to manage your life as an ADHDer?  The former is pretty simple to find in this forum, there's a whole section on it, as well as random posts that evolve into discussing organization in this way.  If you intended to glean help with the latter, man, that's a huge topic and it's different for everyone.  For that one, all I got is "keep reading!"  You may also find it helpful to click on the name of the post-ers  you find in here who have ADHD.  Most will begin a post by specifying which perspective they are coming from (husband, wife, boyfriend, ADHD, "non", etc.)  In this way you may get some insight into the type of ADHD your DH ("dear husband") has.    Good luck!

I have so much in my head.  Organization, frustration, I can't even keep track of it all myself anymore.

 

I had even lost my own post here, I couldn't find where I put it when I came back :S  Trying to cope with his ADHD must be rubbing off on me!

Been lurking for a bit, when I get upset the posts help me calm down.  I wish he'd read them too.  Alas, he "means" to, he just "forgets"...

I was diagnosed about 2.5 years ago and the people on this site have helped me so much. If you spouse was just diagnosed, he may be over-whelmed by suddenly finding out he has a "Brain Disorder". And most people in the real world, my self included before my own diagnosis, only know the stereotypes about ADD. He may be lurking out here and not saying anything because he might not be ready to talk through all that come with the Awesome ADD Package.
