The terrific film ADD & Loving It was aired in Canada and briefly available on the web – enough people clamored to see it that it’s been reposted by Global TV at this link. It’s unclear how long it will be available, so I urge you all to go watch it sooner rather than later (it’s 42 minutes long). The program is fast-paced, fun and easy to watch (the host, Patrick McKenna, is a comedian, after all!), but it’s also very informative and well produced. Experts, including Dr. Ned Hallowell, talk science and treatment, while the on-camera interplay between McKenna and his wife is really moving. In the end, he concludes “It’s hard to love ADD, but you can have ADD and love life.”

canadian film
this was posted on an adhd blog elsewhere about a week ago, and i clicked on the site. when i began this film, i saw that it was 42 minutes long, and thought i'd never be able to watch it all...no problem! it is engaging, warm, informative and optimistic. the couple have an amazing relationship and through them we see the different areas that can be problematic about ADHD. so worth the time! i will watch again.

I thought the film was ok, but very superficial. I agree the couple have an amazing relationship, but then again this is "the movies".
I cannot watch the movie
Clicking on the link, I can see the start triangle on a black field, but nothing happens. Does it work for anybody else?
Very well done documentary
Thank you so much for posting the link for the documentary "ADHD & Loving It". It is very well done, fast paced (which is important) and up-beat.
I am so grateful that this information, and this site are available. My husband was just diagnosed with ADHD. I begged him to go to a psychiatrist and find out what has been making him so unhappy for so many years. He is very successful in his career, we have a great life yet he was always searching for more... nothing ever made him feel fulfilled. He always found a reason to be depressed. I was exhausted and ready to leave. I had to start anti-depressants because I was so frustrated that I couldn't help him.
Now for the first time in 18 years I feel that we have a diagnosis, an answer for him, and treatment options! I always felt that his depression was a symptom of some other problem.
I found him a psychiatrist and spoke to the doctor about what we had been experiencing, and what my husband's symptoms were. After seeing the doctor, he said that there is no doubt that my husband has ADHD.
It took us almost 20 years of seeing therapists and doctors to finally get a clear diagnosis. Now I am learning what to do so that I can be a better partner and help him help himself. He has acted out toward me as being the source of his unhappiness, and it has taken it's toll on my self esteem and life in ways that I can not begin to explain... but as one of the experts in the film basically says, when you drive you must look forward, and only occasionally use your rear view mirror to look at where you have been... concentrate on what is ahead.
With the help of our doctor and this website we have tools to deal with this!
